HoH Pop Up Shop

This is really exciting. I am a huge fan of House of Holland and interned at their studios last year. Henry himself was lovely and I had a really fun time and learnt a lot about the fashion industry. I will be visiting this store while it’s up and running. I am interested to see what the merchandising will look like. I also can’t wait to stream the show live.

Yayoi Kusama

I came across Kusma accidentally while visiting the Tate Modern in April. When I saw a picture of her work and a brief description I had to buy a ticket to her exhibition.

Yayoi is a Japanese artist who has lived in New York and Tokyo, creating her most contemporary work. In the 9 decades of Kusama she has continuously innovated and re-invented her style, and when visiting her exhibitions you can recall what art pieces represent which hometown. She is known for her dot patterns and mixed media. Kusma uses paint, drawing, sculpture, film, performance and immersive installation.

I was really intrigued by her ‘Infinity Net’ paintings which are made up of repeated arcs of paint built into large patterns. Kusma is still creating art but is homed in a mental asylum in Japan.

One of my favorite parts of the exhibition was the room at the end. Covered in lights and dots the atmosphere felt very surreal.

KUSAMA FOR LOUIS VUITTON

Designers such as Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton have been heavily inspired by Kusma and have made a collection based on her work you can get this September.
